Kings Dance Center was established in 1985 in Lemoore, CA, and is owned and directed by Katie Heugly. In September 2002, Kings Dance Center expanded its facilities to include a state-of-the-art two room studio in Hanford. Each location is equipped with Ballet Barres, full length mirrors, high-quality sound systems and a state-of-the-art floating dance floor.

 Kings Dance Center has trained hundreds of students over its 25 year history, with many of them achieving professional dance careers in the entertainment industry, theatre, Broadway and Ballet. Because of the staff's dedication, talent and love for dance, Kings Dance Center continues to be a tremendous asset to the children of our community.
 

Our Goal

It is the goal of Kings Dance Center to provide quality dance instruction and a positive teaching approach to dancers of all levels and experience. We look forward to assisting your dancer open new avenues of creativity and fun through encouragement and self-confidence. It is our pleasure to share with your family the beauty and joy of movement through the art of dance...an experience we hope remains with your dancer throughout their life.

Owner/Director-Katie Heugly has been teaching dance in the valley for over 19 years. She began dancing at the age of four, and joined Kings Dance Center it’s inaugural year in 1985 where she became a member of the Jr. and Sr. Competition Teams. She helped pioneer the Dancin’ Tots program and became the Director for the Junior and Mini Competition Teams.  She has also taught and choreographed Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Creative Dance for KDC, working with students from 18 months to adults.  Katie earned her B.A. in Social Sciences, and M.A. in Educational Administration; she possesses a California Teaching Credential, and California Administrative Credential.  Along with teaching dance, Katie has also worked in the public school system, teaching Kindergarten, 4th Grade, Fine Arts, P.E., and working in administration.

Katie is proud to be the Director of Kings Dance Center.  She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in both teaching and dance techniques.  Along with maintaining the Kings Dance Center Tradition of high quality dance programs already established, Katie is proud to introduce some new programs, such as Latin Jazz, tumbling and ZUMBA.  It is Katie’s goal to bring out the personal best in each individual dancer and to serve as a mentor to the youth of Kings County. 

Katie grew up in Lemoore, and now resides in Hanford with her husband, Robert, and their two children: Shaan who is 11 and Sierrah who is 8.
