Recital Information

Kings Dance Center receives much praise and acclaim from the community for our efforts toward the high degree of professionalism and talent in our productions.  We appreciate the commitment our parents and dancers make as they follow the necessary recital policies and procedures.

A recital is held every year.  The recital is not mandatory and we do offer non-recital classes, which conclude with an in-house demonstration at the end of May.  Please consider your decision early when making a recital commitment, and be aware of the approximate expenses involved. Parents whose dancers are participating in the recital must sign the Recital Agreement on the registration form, indicating that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms of these policies.

Recital Dates

Our recital for the 2009-2010 dance season is scheduled for June 12th and 13th, 2010.  The recital performances will take place at the Hanford High Presentation Center located at 120 E. Grangeville Ave. It is mandatory for your dancer to attend all rehearsals and recital blocking.

Class Attendance

Attendance is very important. When a dancer’s absences affect the group as a whole, the dancer may be dropped from the routine.

Costumes

Costumes prices typically run between $80—$100 per costume.  An $80.00 non-refundable deposit on each costume will be need to be paid by November 1st.  There are two costume deposit payment options:

  1. Pay the full $80.00 at registration
  2. Pay deposit in two installments - $50.00 at registration and $30.00 by November 1st.

Costume prices will be determined in December.  If your costume total is more than your total deposits then you will be billed in January for the difference.  Costume balances are due February 1st.  A late fee will be applied to any unpaid costume balances after February 1st.

Costumes for our June production are ordered in November. If your child drops a recital class after orders have been placed, you will be responsible for paying any remaining balance on the costume.  There are no cancellations.  The deadline to drop or add recital classes is October 15th.  If a dancer drops a recital class prior to October 15th, the deposit will be applied to your dancer’s account.

A costume checklist will be handed out with each costume.  The checklist includes information on the costume, accessories, make-up, hair, and all other details pertaining to the desired look.

Important: If costume deposits have not been paid by November 1st, a costume will not be ordered. Finalize your dancer’s recital-classes early.

Costume Measurements

Costume measurements are taken in October. Two inches are added to the bust, waist, hips, girth and inseam (depending on costume) to allow for a dancer’s growth between August and June. Please notify our desk personnel if you feel two inches will not be enough for your child’s growth pattern.

Measurements are taken to obtain a general size (S,M,L) not a tailored fit.  Parents are responsible for any minor alterations needed.

Professional Photos and Videos

Professional photos and videos are offered as a courtesy of Kings Dance Center. You are under no obligation to purchase recital pictures or videos.  We do however, ask that your dancer attend the group photograph of his or her recital group.  Recital videos can be ordered and will be mailed directly to you.  Kings Dance Center does not order additional videos to sell at the studio.

Recital Tickets

Recital tickets go on sale in April and all seating is reserved. Ticket prices are $15.00 per person for premium seating rows (A-E), $12.00 for the remaining rows.  Children 3 and under may sit on an adult’s lap.  Recital tickets will be sold online starting Wednesday, April 28th at 7:00 a.m.  You will be able to access the website from KDC’s website (www.kingsdancecenter.com).  You will be able to order your tickets at your convenience.  If you have ordered tickets online before then you will be familiar with the process.  If you don’t have access to the internet there will be a call center number you can call to order tickets.  Tickets may be purchased using your debit or credit card.  Tickets can be printed at home or mailed.  Tickets will be available for online purchasing until May 26th.  Remaining tickets can be purchased at Dress Rehearsals at the Hanford High Presentation Center (HHPC).  A recital line up will be available for you to view on our website.  Make sure you know your dancer’s song title to determine which recital your dancer is in.  Additional ticket information will follow prior to ticket sales.

Dress Rehearsals

Dress rehearsals will take place at the Hanford High Presentation Center and attendance is mandatory.  Dancers will receive 1 complimentary ticket for shows they perform in so a parent can take pictures/video tape rehearsals.  Complimentary ticket must be picked up at the studio by the account holder.  Lost tickets will not be replaced.  Accounts must be in good standing prior to ticket being issued.  For anyone else that would like to enjoy the dress rehearsal show, there will be a $7.00 charge for admission.  This admission charge covers theater operational expenses as dress rehearsals are conducted exactly like actual recitals with all of the lighting effects, stereo sound, professional technical crew and theatrical backdrops.  Dress rehearsals will be open for families to videotape and take pictures.
