Studio Policies

Attendance

Students are expected to arrive on time and be properly dressed for class.  A dancer who is tardy will miss important opening instructions and a proper warm-up.  Attendance is extremely important; when a dancer’s absences begin to affect the group as a whole, the dancer may be dropped from the routine.  If your child is going to be absent, please notify the studio by phone or email prior to your child’s scheduled class time.

Admission to Class

Please note that students will not be allowed to attend class unless they are properly registered, their account is current, and they are dressed appropriately.

Telephone Calls

Kings Dance Center cannot be responsible for the delivery of telephone messages.  Our phones are for business use only.  Children will be allowed to use the telephone for emergencies only.

Student Supervision

Children must be supervised and picked up immediately after class.  Unaccompanied students should not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to the start of their scheduled class.  Kings Dance Center staff cannot be responsible for students who arrive early or are picked up late.  Please keep the lobby area quiet and do not leave younger siblings unattended.  This a very busy work area and it is difficult for our desk staff to work when there is additional noise. Please advise your children to remain inside the building when waiting to be picked up.

Students must have parent permission if leaving the studio to go to McDonalds, Walgreens, Taco Bell, Quick Trip, etc. Please no strollers in lobby.

Holidays

Kings Dance Center observes Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and various one-day holidays throughout the year.  Notes will be posted at the studio and given to your child, advising you of the holiday observance.  Please be advised that tuition is not calculated on the number of weeks per month; therefore, tuition amounts will remain the same regardless of studio closures and holidays. Each class will meet a minimum of 33 times in our 2012-13 season.

Make-Up Classes

All make-up classes must be pre-arranged.  The front desk staff can assist you in choosing an appropriate make-up classes.  Students will need to obtain a make-up pass from the front desk before entering class.  Make-up classes must be taken within one month of the absence. The student must be actively enrolled in order to make-up missed classes.  Make-up classes may be taken at either studio and are allowed in the case of illness only.  Tuition adjustments WILL NOT be made for missed classes. Once recital preparation has started, make-up classes will be limited.  If class doesn’t meet minimum requirement of 6 then the class may be cancelled.  The dancers may have the opportunity to move to another class if open or have their account credited.
